Another happy crafter

Here we have a new scrapbooking, who I know will be coming back for more! I love to excite people and rekindle their creative side of life.  Especially when what they are creating will be shared with loved ones.

You're never to young to play pretend

One I designed for a recent scrapbooking tutorial using masks and basic materials.
The dies were TH sizzix ones, cut with cork and c/s.
The mask, we inked through with a good old shaving brush from Wilkinsons in Orange to match the colours in the photo.
The loooong title was made from 4 different fonts that I had in my folder, this feeling makes it more fun IMHO.
We also incorporated tearing, inkling and distressing to make it more grungy.

My 17 year olds birthday present!

Sarah celebrated her birthday at the weekend, I started out making a card for her with my friend Karen's new prima stamp, but decided to make it into a canvas picture for her instead.
I made this on National Scrapbooking Day whilst at a local crop in Bramford. It was pretty much a spur of the moment thing and I am very proud of it!
The base is a piece of sticky back canvas that I bought on the day of the crop. I paper pieced the doll with left over scraps from a page I did last week as well as some cm stickers that someone was giving away at the crop.
The paint effects were made with my new yummy Tim holtz distress paints over my new masks, sunburst studio calico one, a crafters workshop tiny font one and some chicken wire - I think that was a stamposaurus one. It was really bold and bright to begin with as you can see in the picture, but then I swipe the canvas with picket fence(white) to dampen the colour. I love the way these paints work!
For the foliage and flowers I stamped direct to paper using the lovely JOFY stamps (thank you Liz x)  and coloured the grass using TH distress pens.
I also used my new chocolate baroque words stamps they are going to be used so much! Lol...
The die cut frame is a sizzix one in black cardstock, rubbed with treasured gold.
I added a prima being swirl and some flowers that I had in my embellishment box.
It is now pinned in a frame that I purchased from the range that gas a magnetic catch on the front, so like an enclosed onboard! I night have to get another one for myself!

Fond Memories

This weekend gone, I spent my last creative retreat at Belstead House in Ipswich.
Due to cutbacks, the council are selling the property and no more courses will take place from 2013.
Anyway, it will not stop us from getting together, we have plans in the pipeline...its just quite sad that it wont be on our doorstep.
As a thank you to Moira for encouraging us all, a few of us decided to make something for to remember our days at Belstead. We each made a 6" piece to be sewn together into a wall hanging.
Here is my effort, and the overall collaboration.

I made the girls work really hard this morning. We made all these in our 2 hour session today.

I've been spending another craftin' weekend away at Belstead House, just 2 minutes away from my own home (& went residential!)
Anyhoo, I played with my new toy & wanted to share ... for my Daddy who is now officially living in the UK... it was his buffday yesterday.

Scrapbooking success!

I can't quite believe we completed so many pages last class! We had 2 new ladies, Carol & Kate.

The main theme we were aiming for this session, was step further - following simple sketches & upping the 'craftiness' & taking it one step further.
The circle one us still not finished, but a chAllenge it will be .... I'll post pics once completed, honest! X

Scrapbooking results!

I wanted to show some photos that Ive taken of the recent scrapbook sessions Ive taken at Craftability.
The ladies (and men) who come along are lovely and always rise to the challenges that I set.
This time we were making our own hand drawn titles, journalling as a feature (wavy lines) and zen doodling around the papers. There was very little patterned paper and the doodling really made it a more personalised layout.
Brilliant results!!

Creative Expressions workshop

I attended a brilliant all day workshop at Craftability with the lovely Lyn, a lady who really inspires me.
We were using cosmic shimmer mica powders and misters along with masks and LOTS of kitchen towel! Lol!
Here are the cards that we made, it was a very productive day.

Scrapbooking...

Well I must have been a roll tonight. Last minute... As always... I prepared for tomorrows session.
I still had some papers left from our weekend away, so decided to use those for our layout - all using the same papers (novel for me!)
After having a serious session on Myra's cricut, I wanted to make my own title, by hand.. What do you think of the result? I really enjoyed the doodling too.

Tim Holtz style...

I spent a lovely day crafting with my French friend Veronique.
She is another lover of monsieur Tim and invited me to come and okay with her new vagabond, dies and stamp sets!
Here's what we came up between us.. Lots of fun had!!
Now she is back in France, I'm looking forward to her returning for another play!
What lovely crafty friends we meet on our crafting journey through life.

MY sketch!! WAHOO!! (My first too!!)

Tonight is Kirsty's Virtual Crop, it's such fun!

I've been chosen to submit a sketch so everyone can play with my art work... so here goes nothing!!

OK, so I know that it's hand drawn.. but all the best people need to start somewhere!

Just had some EXCELLENT news today, I've been asked to help out in the local craft shop for not only my scrapbooking skills, but my cardmaking too.. I'm so excited!

AND I've just offered my services at the girls school to run an after school crafting club!!

I love my hobby!!  Let's hope it turns into a proper job one day!!
